Pierce County Family Foundations Make Historic Gifts to Mary Bridge Children's
Woodworth Family Foundation: Investing in Community
"Our family's relationship with MultiCare and Mary Bridge run deep and is now in its fifth generation of support. It is very important to us that we stay involved and invested in our local community. The opportunity of treating our South Sound Kids in a true children's hospital is important to us."

2019 Stan Naccarato Community Service Award
In February 2019, the Woodworth Family Foundation was awarded the Stan Naccarato Community Service Award by the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound.
The award was first granted in 1992 to recognize the service of dedicated community volunteers. The award is inspired by the efforts of and named it after its first recipient, Stan Naccarato, a man who spent his life in Pierce County working to make the community a better place to live.
Race for the Clubs
In 2013 we started an event called "Race for the Clubs" for the benefit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. This unusual fundraising event has raised more than $500,000 since its inception. In the event, 25 teams of 4-6 people pay $2,500 to drive go-carts at PGP Motorsports Park in Kent. During the 2-hour endurance race go-carts approach 50 mph as they fly down the straights and slide through the curves.
The Woodworth Family Foundation matches each team's entrance fee and covers all event expenses, so 100% of proceeds directly benefit youth at the clubs. We provide trophies for first, second and third place teams, as well as for the fastest and slowest laps, best uniforms and best team name. Drivers and their guests are treated to a catered dinner after the the racing is complete.
